Are gamers better people?

My first real post will be on a rather controversial statement made by futurist and game designer Jane McGonigal. In a speech given at the TED talks in 2010, she claims that video games have a positive effect on people, and that games can be engineered to solve problems in the real world. Her  statements, such as positive impact on their mental health and  higher self esteem are backed by recent scientific studies.
The talk is quite interesting, and McGonigals is interesting, funny and a delight to see. Really worth watching and showing to those parents who are still convinced that games are pure evil.;)

  1. I just hope this positivity can succeed further in the west. Video games have hardly ever gotten as much credit as they should.
