Electronic Arts turns a deaf ear to Fans and Employees

EA, one of the world’s leading video game publishers, was one of the first companies to offer DLC (Downloadable Content).  And It looks like they’re going to stick with this Idea in Battlefield 3, even though the fans think it’s a really bad Idea. Here is the poll;

So, on the one hand game developers and publishers should follow their Ideas . After all they have studied or learned their jobs and been in the industry for years. You wouldn’t give your dentist tips and which tooth he should pull. But when it comes to games, everybody thinks their Ideas are the right way to go.
But EA should still be careful about ignoring the mainstream public. If the DLC makes the game imbalanced, chances are it will never be a hit… which is probably what they’re going for (I hope at least).

  2. These days, games are sold as incomplete betas. If you want the patch you gotta pay for them. (a'la Cisco)

  4. I'm sort of okay with DLC, but if you have to pay for it, the game loses 2 stars instantly. Like, seriously. You paid for the game, so why not get the full thing?
